In the same way, the clap of the child also comes in this growth milestone, even though this milestone seems very small, but it makes the children discover their hands, and learn to use both hands to express their emotion.

    When do children start clapping?

There is nothing specific for how long or at what age children learn to clap. The moment children start clapping, it is a very different experience for them. If seen, the fists of newborn children are mostly closed in the beginning and they rarely use it. As time passes, after about 12 weeks or more, children start searching for their hands and during this time they understand that it is a part of their own body. Thus around 24 weeks, they are about to start holding things or can switch them between hands. After 30 weeks, they start capturing most things properly and move it from one hand to the other. Children may try clapping for the first time around the age of 25 to 30 weeks. They mostly move their hands looking at others. Even though their palms are able to meet each other properly, this motion of handshaking hands gives a clap.

    Why do children clap?

Like big ones clap for many reasons. Then whether it is from a personal or a social region. You can clap to get someone's attention or to express one of your expressions.

In the same way, children also do this from a personal and social region.

    1. Feeling of catching something Children observe things very much and they learn the social sign very quickly. Most parents encourage their children to do some such activity and clap their hands when the child completes that task. The child who soon begins to understand why he is doing so. After which he claps after completing some work by himself.

     2. To know the vision skill, when the child starts clapping, it is important to know before he starts to know about his hands. This will only happen when the child feels his limbs and learns to control it and it may be that he starts clapping in the same way. In this way, he also checks his vision skill and sees what happens by joining the palms in a slow and fast pace. Through the clap of voice, he explores it even more and tries to clap again and again.

    3. Motor skills This time is the right time for the child to develop motor skills. During this time, they start catching things, moving from here to there, throwing them, etc. all these activities start. This is a sign that the child is understanding the function of his organs. Likewise clapping also helps his motor skills better. Apart from this, children also start to understand this coordination between their hands to clap.

How to encourage the child to clap ?

When parents think how to encourage a child to clap, you need to understand that you do not need to teach it in any particular way. The child can learn to clap on his own by his observation and encouragement.

Clap along with other activities. Playing with the children, they start clapping frequently and then stop for some time. In this way, after repeating several times, Baby will try to imitate you by seeing what you are doing.

If needed, you can hold her hands lightly and make her act like you can. Keep in mind that do not make the child do this action too loudly, he may also be afraid.

Do not clap when your child is sleeping or has recently woken up from sleep. The best time for this is only when the child is playing or after feeding when he is in a good mood, then do so.

Never panic. You are not in a clapping race where the child learns to clap as soon as possible. Enjoy the moment and see how the child gradually develops his or her skills.

When to consult a doctor ?

Although there is no definite time for the child to learn to clap properly. However, most children start using their hands after the age of 6 months, even if they cannot clap properly.

If your child is not showing any movement or is not showing any interest, then it is possible that the child is suffering from a development disorder and in such a situation it is necessary to go to the doctor.

Clapping is also a social benefit, as it gives a feeling of happiness from within, which helps to support the human life in the society. If your child learns this quickly, then he develops the basics of talking in it quickly.
